Back to School Pictures
Riverview Florida, Winthrop Town Centre Pictures
Can you tell that I just adore back to school pictures? The idea of starting a fresh year and having these pictures to look back on is priceless to me. Not to mention the last few years, Reilly (of Reilly Maguire Photography) and I have had the most fun photographing our own kids together. It started raining on us, and the storm was close, but I am so glad we made time to squeeze in these pictures. The boys were full of energy, spirit and as usual, the best photos of them are when they are being “themselves” together. I love their sense of naughtiness. I adore seeing them be in cahoots with each other may drive me crazy, but I really wouldn’t want it any other way.
So, today is the day you go on your way into third grade boys. We are so proud of the little men you are becoming. Your sense of humor, style, kindness and courage makes us proud to be your parents. Your swimming this summer shows your determination and desire to get stronger and better at what you love. We can’t wait to see what you do on the first big swim team you are on. You skipped a few levels over the summer and will be swimming daily on the swim team. Which has me overwhelmed and equally over joyed. You are amazing. Twins, but still so different. Your personality comes through stronger every minute. We can’t wait to see how big you grown inside and out this year!!!
This blog post about back to school pictures will also be my what to wear Wednesday blog. The boys picked out most of their outfits on their own, too. Again, you can see layering is key. I put a t-shirt over one of the button down shirts. That is my favorite look on boys. I am not usually a huge fan of graphic print shirts, but in this instance I think it works. The textures work, it is not something that will date the picture, and the colors brought a pop to the photos. Our other guy had very graphic pants, so I wanted to keep his shirt a little more subdued.
The outfits definitely don’t match, but putting them together it looks “right” – enough color, enough interest from different layers and tones, so don’t be afraid of color and patterns when picking your next family photo outfits! Knowing the surroundings of the rich bricks and deep ivy wall made it easy to dress them, too. So, don’t forget your location when picking outfits as well! And…I should have ironed the shorts…but this is life, and that is him, so I will let it go. Hope everyone’s back-to-school is successful!!!
