Formal Engagement Session in Tampa

Formal Engagement Session in Tampa

Ybor City Pictures and Styled Wooded Engagement Dream Session

This was a dream session. I am not just saying that. I mean it, I feel it, I breath it. A formal engagement session in Tampa was the best of two worlds. Both urban and rustic. Warning, this blog post is going to be a photo heavy post! The couple is about the sweetest, smartest, and clearly you can see prettiest ever. Their love for each other, their kindness and patience for each other just came naturally.

They had a vision and through our planning the engagement photo session. Her sister and brother-in-laws helped, they even managed to style the “wooded” session of the shoot themselves. It was great it was to see her sister and brother-in-law at the shoot. Not only because they had just as magical of an engagement session (see that here), and wedding (here), but because they were so helpful. They sprayed oils all over so we were not eaten alive by mosquitoes. From helping unpack the vintage couch, setting up the fruit and sweets, each of which has a special personal meaning to this couple. No detail was overlooked.

We started in Ybor, special to the groom and his family’s heritage. Can you believe the fantastic weather, and light we had? I loved the fun print of the gown, and the tux just stepped up the look of Ybor a bit. I loved pushing outside my comfort of shooting at sunset in a green setting. Enjoy the urban engagement photos setting first.

Then, we set back to the “country” for a more magical, enchanted picnic session. I loved the change of dress, and the gold just worked perfectly against the lush greenery, and the gorgeous sunlight we were blessed with that night. She rented the gold dress from Rent The Runway (www.renttherunway.com) and I highly recommend using that service if you are interested in your own formal engagement session Tampa. Even a formal look for maternity photos would be stunning! I mean, for real, just sit back and enjoy these romatic photos bathed in light and love! I can’t wait to capture this couple’s February nuptials!!

Riverview Fun Family Photographer: Winthrop

Riverview Fun Family Photographer

Winthrop Town Center Pictures

This Riverview location has to be one of my favorites for fall. The light is always so yummy and I can’t wait to photograph more families here this fall! As a Riverview fun family photographer, well, life is easier for me, because it is now the place I call home. I love Winthrop Town Center for family photos because of the variety of backdrops in a small space. The best part, you can grab an ice cream at Menchie’s afterwards. In the fall, with the earlier sunset, you can easily grab dinner here. Some of our favorites to eat at in Winthrop are Cappy’s Pizza Riverview, to Boca, or Ciccio’s, and Acropolis.

I loved meeting this “new to me” family. They are so sweet. My goal for every session is to photograph a family’s closeness, their love and their true personalities! If you are planning your own family photos this year, take not of some of their clothing choices and how they worked with our backdrops.  I loved mom’s deep navy blue blouse and the bit of pattern from their little guy’s gingham plaid shirt that brought in a bit of classic pattern and helped his gorgeous eyes pop, too. Their clothes went perfectly with one of my newest quilt additions from Stitched and Found. I am obsessed! The green field we relaxed in just helped all that blue stand out and not blend in to the scenery. I love blues tones for family photos in a lush green setting for timeless for family portraits, instead of being holiday photos only.

I am so glad this family didn’t have me wait until the holiday card were out to share some of my favorite shots. This time of year, there is a lot of photographing families but then the blog goes quiet. I understand of course wanting to wait, but of course, I love to share the pictures, too!  If you are here for this family, don’t forget to comment below to help them get a gift 8×10 print from me!

Tampa Photographer: Storytelling Childhood

Tampa Photographer

Storytelling Childhood Pictures

To me, this is childhood. This is playing outside until the street lights come on. Soaking up the sunshine. Smelling the roses, or weed-like flowers if you please. Spinning and twirling. Letting the wind take your untamed hair. Running. Laughing. Just living life unstressed, unburdened, wild and free. Sweet Isla, enjoy that as long as you can.  I adored this super quick session to test out a new location and that almost here fall light. As a Tampa photographer based out of Riverview, this location is just a perfect sunlit spot with enough wild to let kids roam and also soak in that gorgeous fall sun.

Being a Tampa photographer, many times I get sick and tired of the same locations, so I am always looking for sweet spots that could be in your neighborhood. Could look “meh” to the un-photographic eye, but to me I can see the magic. This is one of those spots. But honestly, storytelling childhood pictures could be just as sweet anywhere. In your backyard, on a favorite playhouse, jungle gym, or trampoline. These type of real storytelling portraits are my heart. I love the little details. The light as it hits blowing hair. Clothing that is not constricting or fussy. Boots you wanted to wear because you wanted to, not because your mom told you to. That is childhood. That is my soul. I hope you enjoy a bit of this session and remember your mom calling you in for dinner late, or playing with your neighbors a little longer than normal and smile like an almost six year old today.

Pet Photographer Tampa: Riverview Lifestyle Session

Pet Photographer Tampa

Riverview Lifestyle Session & Family Film

How could you not fall in love with this face? I mean for real, Mr. Gatsby, you have my heart.  If you ever need a pet sitter, we are here 🙂 I love when I am asked to put my pet photographer Tampa hat on. I adore pets. Unfortunately, with a boy who is so allergic to cat and dog dander, we don’t have any furry animals any more. This gorgeous labradoodle would work for us and our allergy boy. Alas for now, we will just visit this adorable guy! I did a family film a few months back. Now, here are a few of the images along with the family film we created for this family as they welcomed their new “brother.”

I love how this Riverview lifestyle session shows each girl’s personality in full force as well. You can see one is clearly a lover and snuggly. The other is going to be the more playful big sister to the pup. You have to watch the family film at the end of the blog to see how tuckered out the puppy was by the end of our session!

Family films are pretty much what turns me into a sap. If you want a family film of your own, please contact me today. Most of 2016 is booked except the few holiday mini-sessions open. However, if your family can do a weekday morning session in your home I would love to tell your story.  The films can do more than still photographs can accomplish. The movement, emotion, and the little voices and sounds are captured help freeze all these fleeting moments.  Film sessions booked in 2016, even if we complete it in spring of 2017 will have this year’s film pricing and include 20 digital images in the price, too!

Redington Pier Family Beach Pictures: First Birthday Milestone

Redington Pier Family Beach Pictures

First Birthday Milestone

Redington Pier family beach pictures are the best! I have one slot left for the holiday mini-sessions this year, so if this looks like a perfect way to document your family this year, email me soon!

This little one is almost one and I honestly cannot believe it. How are we celebrating her first birthday milestone already? I think this family will always be super special to me since I was there to photographically document her birth. You can take a look back at that emotional day here.

I was so happy to hear this mama still looks at the pictures every week.  For her birthday she is doing a special theme, but I am keeping those pictures under wraps so they can be used at her special first birthday party. So for now, enjoy these Redington Pier family beach pictures.

My favorite part of Redington Pier is the entrance to the beach is the walkway that ends with sea grapes. Depending on the time of year are really dark and full, or brighter and let more light in. I just love this spot for capturing snug family shots since the walkway is so small. I especially adore the brighter light we had earlier this sunny evening! Can we also make a note of how amazing all their outfits looked, too?

If you are here for this sweet family, please leave a comment to wish K a happy birthday and help them earn a gift 8×10 print from me!

This little walker face, I die! And see, look at how wet that sand is…it basically blends right into the water itself.

This session was done a couple days after Hurricane Hermine went through just north of us. However, let me tell you, the sand and beach was soaking. I have never been on sand like this before. I laughed when we put down my quilt and I could immediately see the water soak into the hem around the edges…and then ever so slowly saturate the entire quilt. The family graciously sat on the quilt. They tried to look happy and comfortable, but let’s be honest, no body is going to be able to fake it till they make it sitting on a soggy wet blanket.  However, if you look closely at the walking away family picture you can see how saturated Dad’s awesome shorts were. I think the reality of the shot with soaked clothes should be kept for posterity.
