I love seeing clients come back to me when they have new babies. I mean, seeing parents become first time parents is awesome. Seeing clients return to see them add new babies to their families is the best! Lakeland baby pictures featuring the now “big sister” in the exact same spot we did her own newborn pictures, lets me continue telling their family story. See more of her maternity and Lakeland baby pictures on the blog HERE.
Now, meeting their newest baby, she was one of the tiniest babies I have been able to photograph. So tiny, so precious, and so sleepy! Baby S was happy to sleep away in my little wooden bowl. The bowl is just too darling to put sleeping babies in. I keep them layered in nice soft, textured wraps and “bumps” to keep the newborns off the wood itself. This bowl has become a staple of my newborn photo work. I super love putting creams and soft neutrals together for newborns. The soft colors are timeless and photograph your baby with them being the feature, not what they are wearing. Of course, adding some pinks or soft colors addds a bit of personality, too, and I am not afraid of that either!
I love the family photo portion best of my newborn sessions though. Getting the real interactions between new siblings is so fun. You just never know how kids are going to react to new babies in the house. This big sister was so sweet, she mainly wanted to play with me. However, we did coax her into a few with her newborn sister. I love her little hands, with their painted nails sweetly touching her new sister! These moments when the days seem so long and tiring, will be fondly looked back upon soon enough. The years really do fly by, am I right?
