Little Harbor Beach Pictures
Sixth Birthday Pictures
These Little Harbor beach pictures are about my favorite from this summer. This rain every night is getting a little old, Florida. Am I right? Fellow photographers, I know you feel me. And those of you trying to set up photo sessions, I know you get me.
This family had just moved here when we were setting up their daughter’s six birthday session. We tried to meet one night at Little Harbor, and although the rain didn’t look like it was going to hit us, it happened to be one of the worst storms we had all summer. After more and more rain was forecasted every night, we switched things up and tried a morning beach shoot. I am honestly so happy it worked out that way.
The morning light was gorgeous! The trees and lush greenery along Little Harbor beach was just perfect for this sweet girl’s cream lace dress to stand out. We had a great time walking and exploring on the beach. I love when parents trust me and my vision. When they do, I can capture their personality. We get the quiet in between moments. Instead of just focusing on the smiles. We looked for fairies, and I swear this little one would have been a water fairy the way she was able to capture and hold a dew drop. Parents of little ones who love Tinkerbell movies know what I am talking about!
Not only did we get a morning beach walk in but we also did a jump into their pool afterwards. Which was a great cooling relief for me and a great way to wash the sand off before I got in my car! I think some of these underwater pictures are my favorite ever. The black and white of her just walking along the pool worked well with the lines and shadows. I was shooting from just below the water line. That picture was chosen for the top three at the daily favorite at Beyond the Wanderlust. An ever greater honor, they asked to use it for their blog header for the month (if you click quickly, it may still be up HERE).
I can’t wait to hand deliver her own special birthday album and prints later this week! It was so much fun to capture how six looks on you Miss M!
