Film Photography | adding film on to your session
If you follow me, you know since the pandemic, I have been photographing using film for a lot of personal projects as well as some client work. My travel account on Instagram is full of film work. However, I do love to add film to my Tampa family photo session as well.
I adore the feel of film, the creative push it gives me and a more artful and dare I claim, a more soulful way to document clients? I just love adding film to sessions. It is a way to get a larger gallery and a more diverse range of images as well. These are particular great for newborns, in a way to slow down the session, freeze these first few moments after baby arrives to your family. Or, as a Tampa high school senior, a way to step away from the typical posed senior portraits, a roll of film can be a perfect way to give you a unique addition to your special senior moments.
The cost of film is currently only $125 to add to a session retainer. That includes the film cost, the developing and scanning and then delivering ten of your favorites as digital negatives from a roll of 36 exposures of film. I do add a bit more time to the session so I have time to finish a roll while we are together. If you are booking a mini-session that means you can only do a roll of film if you are the first mini-session of the day if you are choosing a back-to-back mini-session time slot. Or a full session, I generally add about 15-20 more minutes to your session so that really works in your favor if you are a senior who wants another outfit change, too. You get that little extra time to change as well.
Here are just a few samples of what your family on film could look like. These are more recent moments but I am happy to share a larger gallery if you are interested when you are booking! Make sure you let me know if you are interested in adding film when booking so I can be sure to adjust your timeframe for the session and bring the right film and cameras with!
Oh and seniors starting senior year in a few short weeks, don’t forget if you want a full session this fall, you will want to set that up by August if possible for the flexibilty for dates. My fall weekends book up very quickly. Or, in spring, I open weekday mini-sessions Monday - Thursdays, starting in January. However, if you want a full session you can also add on a short cap & gown session this year for a small fee for later in the school year, too!
