Pass-a-Grille Dog Beach | Couples Photo Session
I had the best time with these two humans and their sweet pups! Pass-a-Grille dog beach was sensory overload with gorgeous pups all around. However, these guys were some of the most laid back people and pups I have ever photographed. It was so nice to have such a laid back Friday night together. We held out for the sunshine and rescheduled due to rain or possible storms earlier in the week, and fought off two nights of just nasty summer weather. I am so glad we did.
It is hard when clients come in from out of town, or have deadlines for various reasons, especially in the summer when storms are so unpredictable. Having a little buffer for a back up really makes a big difference in getting your photos done and done in the best lighting if possible. Of course, sometimes we have best laid plans for great weather and we still get clouds or rains roll in but having a plan for the just in case of rain in summer is one way to ensure you get your vacation beach pictures in before you head home. While these guys were not here for vacation they did have a limited timeframe to work with and thankfully we had sunshine on that last possible date! Was it hot, yup, sure was, but did it look amazing, yes, yes it did!
Picking outfits for a couples photo session should focus on your own styles! I adore the summery colors they went with. The buttery yellow dress was so lovely and a nice pair of pants really makes the session look a bit more formal than a pair of shorts would have. I know being hot is hard at a session, but the pants are so nice if your partner is wearing a more formal looking dress. I also loved that the incorporated a couple of different fabric choices, not all just one cotton feel. The textures and details can create a visual interest even without patterns. Classic and timeless will always stay in fashion and both of these outfits work together for their timeless feel.
This couple also brought along a great friend to help with the dogs, which I always recommend! Being “on” for a camera is hard enough for humans, but dogs just need a break even moreso. Having someone who can give them a break, walk, drinks, etc, is a better way to make sure you are less stressed and allows for more photos without poses specifically working better with such little legs :) The Pass-a-Grille dog beach was a perfect spot to start and then we could head over to Pass-a-Grille for a few without the pups, too. The parking on this beach is not ideal on the busy weekends so I would recommend a weekday if possible. This Friday night we met was a little less busy than expected and WAYYYYY less busy than a weekend on this popular local beach for sure!
this overhead point of view for couples on the beach is becoming a “must get” image for me, but add doggies and I love it even more!
