Corporate & Not-so-Corporate Professional Branding Portraits

 FAQs

  • It all begins with you and your style and personality. Pick a favorite piece that you love and make sure it photographs well. How do you do that? Feel free to text me your outfit for a photographer’s persepective!

Don’t be afraid to pick a second option if you want more than one look, just make sure it is an easy change since your session time is quick.

Remember, this is your professional first impression, so dress for success. Think of how your boss or mentor would dress when picking your outfits.

Think if your skin tone when choosing your clothing, too. If you are pale, don’t pick all white options. If you are darker skin tones, maybe pick a color that brightens your face, too.

  • Definite “no’s” include small checks, often found in men’s button down shirts, like gingham checks. Small polka dots, stripes and busy patterns that cause a “moire” effect in camera. Solid button downs are better for men, and women can pick a pattern that is larger and bolder.

Colors that work together and your backdrop are best. Think of color theory and the color wheel when choosing your clothing, too.

Ditch the undershirt for a more polished look for men. Starch your color if needed, you don’t want to be flopping in the wind!

Lastly, don’t go baggy! Clothing that fits snugger is always better. Tucked shirts will give you more shape as well!

Large logos should also be ditched.

  • Your final two images will receive a fine hand edit. This will still be natural and only take some small dark circles and fine lines out if needed. If you want more than my usual edit style, then a vanity edit of $25 per image may apply. Let’s talk about your concerns before your session so we can talk about helpful tips to minimize any concerns or what is included with a vanity edit.

  • A few last minute tips! If you are worried about wrinkles, please allow time to change at your location. Press anything and make sure your clothing doesn’t look to “worn” for the best impression. Make sure your jewerly is simple or if your brand is bold, go bold, just make sure it doesnt require too much fussing and adjusting. Glasses are great, but make sure you aren’t wearing transition lenses as they will be dark using our natural light on location. Moisturize and drink plenty of water the days beforehand and make sure your cuticles and nails are in tip top shape.
