Oh my lanta, what a sweet baby this little guy was! We met one hot and sticky morning last month at Picnic Island Park. With a seven month old and two pups, you bet we had to try to beat the heat and long summer nights. Thankfully, these guys were willing to get to Picnic Island Beach and Park early on a weekend to beat the heat and the crowds. One thing we did not beat was the no-see-um bugs! They were out as the sun started getting higher, but in the end, I think it was worth a bit of sweat and bug annoyance.
What a great spot and hint, hint, this location is one of my only beachy locations for mini-sessions this fall. The morning was too gorgeous not to offer this as a morning session this fall. I did head here last fall and it was still super hot, but I am going to do just a few morning session offerings here to try to beat the heat and give us a gorgeous backdrop. It won’t have much beach photo ops except the first family of that morning though, so if you are looking for a true fall beach photo session, you are going to be better off booking a full family photo session instead! That way you get the full sunset and don’t miss out on the best part of the beach, the sunsets! I know someone told me recently “don’t think we are not reading your posts, I know when the newsletter is coming out, it is 8/14!” They were right, so make sure you sign up for the newsletter or if you are an existing client check your email first thing that morning!
Back to this sweet family. The Mr. booked this session with me for his wife around Mother’s Day. What a guy! Great idea for the holidays, birthdays or Mother’s Day. I was so thrilled to meet them after lots of planning. They stuck to a nice neutral wardrobe palette, and let their connections be the start of the pictures, not their wardrobe. The greenery and golden sunlight just perfectly worked for a gorgeous backdrop, too. We did get down to the water first thing, but then worked with more space to room and allow the dogs to play a bit while we took their photos. I could not pick a favorite if I tried, so here are a “few” favorites from this gorgoues Tampa family photo session at Picnic Island!
