I am truly so lucky to document so many amazing kids, especially so many truly amazing high school seniors. This kiddo is no different. I met his family at the very end of summer, just as he was about to enter senior year. Our plan was to document him again on his own this spring for a senior portrait photo session in Tampa. I am so glad we were able to squeeze in this mini-session on Davis Islands and the beach. While Davis Islands took so many hits last fall with hurricanes, it is still such a special place. I am glad to see it is still rebuilding and I truly hope it is spared this year with storms. The vegetation is also looking slightly better but no where near as thick and lush as it once was. Thankfully though, it still gets some of the prettiest light in Tampa. It does however, also get extremely busy with beach goers all week long, and other photographers and beach set ups, and the like, so it is best for a quick session so we can get in and out and explore other areas of Tampa, too.

You know those places that are just magical, no matter the weather, no matter sunshine or clouds, these special locations just always seem to be bring out the best for photos? That is Davis Islands Beach for me.This family is also pretty magical and special too. They have trusted me for a few years now with the extra bonus of film at their mini-sessions. That means they get a little extra time and a whole roll of film to play with and keep the digitals of at the end as well. Davis Islands and film are also a perfect match like peanut butter and jelly!

I just love when a night works out with perfect weather, the perfect light, the perfect family and the perfect outfits. This family photo session was the one that almost didn't happen this year. A hurricane made us change our plans from Palm Island to Tampa, and then another hurricane changed our date again, but it was like the stars aligned for this South Tampa family photographer session at Davis Island Beach. The light here is so special this time of year, it worked perfectly with their neutral wardrobe palatte.
