I met up with this gorgeous family a few weeks ago on the most amazing night weather and light wise in a long time. We had the absolutely perfect weather for their springtime family pictures in Tampa. I loved their wardrobe choices and the location really helped set off their rich details against the greenery and blacks. I always get nervous when clients say “we are all wearing black” as a photographer who loves colors, but this time the all black outfits absolutely worked. The little bits of sparkle, the details and rich snippets of color among the black really worked so perfectly. Also, Hillsborough River State Park is now officially back open, so I absolutely recommend making a spring day of it here soon. You don’t need to do photos, just pack a water bottle, maybe some snacks and a sense of adventure and you can really explore a great park in the Tampa Bay area.

If you are looking for famlily photos or senior portraits this is absolutely one of my favorite locations with the variety we get in a small space! I loved that there were some festive wreaths up by the time we got our session in this fall, too. This location is always up for Riverview mini-sessions each fall and sometimes even in the spring if the wildflowers pop up! I just love when a night works out with perfect weather, the perfect light, the perfect family and the perfect outfits. This family photo session was the one that almost didn't happen this year. A hurricane made us change our plans from Palm Island to Tampa, and then another hurricane changed our date again, but it was like the stars aligned for this South Tampa family photographer session at Davis Island Beach. The light here is so special this time of year, it worked perfectly with their neutral wardrobe palatte.

Urban family photo session, yes please. The biggest hit this fall and first location snatched up off the schedule right away. This lovely family has been coming back to me for ten years. I think this was one of my favorite sessions of theirs yet. They fit perfectly in this urban setting. Oh, and if you you are looking for a cool urban photo shoot next year, the flowers that bloom in the spring really make the riverwalk come alive more, too. It is a great spot for high school senior sessions or fun family photo sessions any time of year!
