Tampa family photos | Julian B LANE PARK
New website! Wow. This has been consuming Hamilton Creek Photography behind the scenes the last few weeks. Before I kick off the new sessions I have been doing, I figure I will go back to highlight a few of my favorites sessions from the busy fall schedule. Plus, I have been doing sessions at locations I have not shared on the blog before, so that is where the new website will kick off!
Tampa family photos will always be my jam. Honestly, I know mini-sessions are not for everyone. Meaning not every family does well in a shorter session time. And, honestly, not all photographers relish in getting sessions done quickly. For me, I love it. I love getting to see many families each year after year. For me, I never have enough time to talk to my favorite families that come back every year, but I also love seeing families come back time and time again. I also love documenting the changes these families go through every year, too.
To go with my “new” theme, here is a session that took place at a “new to me”location, Julian B. Lane in downtown Tampa. It is a fun spot along the river, with city views across the river into downtown Tampa. The mornings are great for this location, but I would love to do another session here in the evening. But the light coming up over the skyline was pretty fun to document. The urban setting for families is often hard if there are streets and cars to contend with, but this urban location in a big city park is great for littles. There are some docks and it can get busy if there are events or activities downtown, but overall, there are some quiet areas to escape to. Or, much like visiting the beach at sunset, if it is crowded, your photographer can creatively shoot to keep the crowds out of view, too! I recommend this spot if your home is more modern and you want to document the city you live in, or you just have tried all the other photo locations around Tampa. Julian B. Lane Park does require a photo permit to do your session there, but that is an easy part of the family photo process I take care of for you!
Bonus if you are a family with multiples. This particular day started with twin babies and ended with triplet preteens. I love being a twin mama myself, it connects me with so many other fantastic families raising multiples. With our own teenage sons, I feel like I have been where my families that come to me for photos at every stage. I also have been sure to get my own family photos done yearly, so I have been in their shoes, as a client, as well! It can be more chaotic at times, but I still say more to love, too!
